The fly is constantly agitated on the surface to try and emulate what happens when a real fly lands on the water, tempting the bass or trout into coming to the surface for some free lunch. The standard fly fishing gear is very different than that of coarse or fly fishing except that a rod and reel are used.
Ice fishing takes place in the colder areas of the world including Alaska and Minnesota. An area of the ice is cut away so that they fishing line can be placed into it.
